A member of Parkview sent me a great video which is full of wonderful advice and life lessons to live by. It has many worthwhile statements and helpful suggestions. In our Covid-19 situation, which is still in a state of emergency extended by our Ontario government, we are all getting a little tired of isolation, social distancing, limited numbers of people to meet together, wearing masks, and having to continue to be so careful. And we must abide by the Covid-19 rules – they keep us safe and everyone else safe.
Life lessons teach us necessary rules to live by. We learn through experience. And our bible has lots of good rules to live by, too. Proverbs is full of them! “The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it, “ Proverbs 27: 12. Perhaps this speaks to those who ignore the pandemic rules and may catch the virus!
I memorized this bible verse when I was a child and I’ve remembered it all my life: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths,” Proverbs 3: 5, 6. This is good advice. Trust God. Our understanding is limited. But God knows the path we should take.
So, as you watch the video, some statements will strongly speak to you. Pay attention. Perhaps there is a warning there, or some advice to strengthen your resolve to live a better life.
May God continue to hold us all in God’s care. Keep safe and keep well.
Blessings, Rev. Mary
