Last Friday I told the story about God intervening for me and answering prayer. My dinner knife came back to me! It was a testimony to God’s miracles in our lives. I’d like to share how one reader responded, because what they say is very true and very important. Here is how they replied:
“A great reminder that God will intervene! What I really like about this message is God’s timing. God kept the knife safe all this time – ALL winter! – and God waited for a day to reveal the knife when its return would bring the most joy to you. Its return may not have meant so much if it were on a random Tuesday or Wednesday. What a wonderful gift! Thanks be to God. God is the ultimate author and creator – He waits to give us spectacular reveals because He REVELS in our joy and praise for His creativity. Thanks be to God for being such a fantastic scriptwriter!!!! Netflix has nothing on Him!!
“It’s a wonderful reminder that even if our prayers don’t feel like they’re being answered at the time, God is listening to them and holding on to them dearly, to deliver responses for the times when we need them the most. Let’s remember this when we pray, and wait in faith that there will be answers. I have a note written from a sermon about answered prayer. The minister said God has 3 responses to prayer:
2. Not yet
3. I have something better for you
“So even if something feels like a ‘no,’ we wait in faith knowing a response WILL be given in God’s time and it WILL be something BETTER, something GREATER than we could ever control, create or imagine. It makes me want to do cartwheels and jump up and down and shout ‘yippee!’ knowing our Creator is this generous, creative and caring.”
Now readers, isn’t this response delightful? What wonderful trust, joy and anticipation come through in this reader’s reply. I simply had to share it with you! May we take it to heart!
Continue to keep safe, and well, and trust in God’s timing for God’s answers.
